MONTE CARLO, Monaco — Filippo Inzaghi tied the score early in the secondhalf and Marek Jankulovski got the go-ahead goal to lead AC Milan over Sevilla3-1 Friday in the European Super Cup, played in the memory of Antonio Puerta.

Both teams and match officials wore black armbands in memory of Puerta, a22-year-old Sevilla midfielder who collapsed on the field during last Saturday’sSpanish league match against Getafe, and died three days later in a hospitalafter multiple cardiac arrests.

Players from both teams wore Puerta’s name on the backs of their jerseysunderneath their shirt numbers, and a minute’s silence was observed while flagsat Stade Louis II were flown at half staff.

Milan fans chanted Puerta’s name and draped a banner reading “Onore aPuerta (Honor to Puerta)” from their end of the stadium. Sevilla’s sectionfeatured several banners in homage to him.

The game featured last season’s winners of the Champions League (Milan) andUEFA Cup (Sevilla), and Milan won the Super Cup for the fifth time.

Renato headed in Duda’s corner kick in the 14th, then kissed his hand andpointed to the sky while his teammates surrounded him and Sevilla fans chantedPuerta’s name.

Inzaghi, who scored twice in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool in last May’sChampions League final, started Milan’s comeback in the 55th minute when heleaped to head in Gennaro Gattuso’s cross.

Milan went ahead in the 62nd on Andrea Pirlo’s long pass from midfield toJankulovski, who shot quickly into bottom corner from an angle.

Kaka completed the scoring in the 87th after he was tripped in the penaltyarea. Goalkeeper Andres Palop blocked the penalty kick, but the ball reboundedoff the goalkeeper’s face and Kaka headed the ball in.

Milan also won the Super Cup in 1989, 1990, 1994 and 2003.
