COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Joran Kirovski scored on a penalty kick in the 44thminute, and the Colorado Rapids snapped a five-game winless streak with a 1-0victory over Toronto FC on Sunday night.

The win kept the Rapids’ playoff hopes alive.

Colorado (8-12-8) was short-handed after Mehdi Ballouchy was ejected in the36th minute for fouling Carl Robinson for his second foul of the match. PabloMastroeni was ejected in the 88th minute after receiving his second caution.

But it didn’t matter against Toronto FC (6-16-6), last place in Major LeagueSoccer’s Eastern Conference.

Kenny Stamatopoulos made four saves for Toronto FC, while Bouna Coundoulstopped three shots for Colorado.
